My son was murdered today
by truman ini have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.
i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.
maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.

No can I get out of going in service?
by Captain Obvious inas some of you who read my previous thread know, my matrix moment has passed, and i am on my way out.
i am trying very hard to fade slowly in hopes that my wife will wake up, and maybe my family too.
the problem is, my conscience still works well, and i don't want to go out in if service and tell people things that i know aren't true.

I started minimizing my time slowly...I used to do street work as I faded....I'd just stand there or walk around for an hour or two....then one day..... poof.....gone...done...the elders never came knocking.
Riding around with your wife is a great idea....then drop your hours...if they elders have a talk with you.....I heard they don't do well hearing one is depressed.....they don't know how to handle it.....and you have been feeling kinda down haven't you....that's not a lie.......
I would highly suggest counting time on yourself. After all you are re education yourself to the truth. And you can always count time here with a topics you're interested in. I also agree with skeeter! There's many here you're helping by posting and the WTS is encouraging the internet. But in all honestly you can't continue trying to keep up.....it will only get worse.....

Sad news Re: Menlo Park Congregation
by Devil_Fish init saddens me to inform you that ruth edwards has passed.
ruth was a long time member of the menlo park congregation.
when the letter was read that indicated that john cobb, jason cobb, walter st. clair, and george stock had been removed from their post as elders, ruth fainted and needed to be taken to the hospital.

Yes, I have to thank you as well Jaun! This post is perfect timing. I too was able to use your information this weekend. It turns out while I was relating this story to a family member, they mentioned it's funny I should bring this up because they just met a sister who said her KH has been going through renovations for two years now and wanted their KH back...so it made quite and impact on our conversation.....
Dispite what some think, these brothers are doing a great thing bringing attention to many JW's in and out and will open some eyes to what's really going on......even if that's the end result, it's huge

A new member of the thinking class
by Captain Obvious inthis is my first post on this forum, though it feels like i already know some of you here.
i have been lurking for a couple of months now, and i must say, there honestly seems to be more love and respect here than any forum i have ever seen on any forum of any kind.
i am 25 years old, married 3 years to my wonderful wife who is 22. we had a somewhat classic jw upbringing... which i now know has been our biggest problem.

Wow....this is something! Welcome! It's so awesome to see men who truly love their wives.....hang in there guys....it's worth it!
From a female point of view you need to bond with your wives and prove to them you're not the enemy (which they have had pounded into their heads) stay close, do fun things, let them feel safe, be romantic and let them feel cared for. This is a scary thing for them. Keep the line of communication open, but for now not about the WTS....you have to be gentle and patient. They are scared shitless of the Big A and Apostates......and you have to prove they are safe with you.
I know my ex regrets all the problems he gave me when I was in......he finally admitted it to me years later after we split.......but by then it was too late. He told me I was truly the only one who cared and loved him.... but by then I was over him....
Now the tables have turned and now that I'm out one of my very close family members has been studying...I was shattered ...but took my own advice and chilled out and only mentioned things when the right opportunity appeared (as SweetBC mentions planting small seeds and not going full force) Rhis past weekend I got a surpize phone call... after two years of my stressing, they're finally seeing the light of the WTS BS.....hang in there!!

Interview with former Watchtower P.R. man Robert Jankowski
by Dogpatch inlast week i took a trip down to santa ana, ca.
and met robert jankowski, a name i heard very often at bethel in the late 70s.
robert was one of the voices of many watchtower drama characters in the 70s, along with tom cabeen, who he often worked with.. in addition, the watchtower was allowed a slot on local radio stations every sunday (allowed by law free of charge to churches then) , which he provided to the radio stations in cassette form in advance.

Towards the end of the audio when Robert mentions the " invisible forces" my x jw mind went....what? What forces? Is he talking about demons?! Then I realized what he really meant. I have recently been wondering about this, however, Ray Franz never mentioned such a thing. Have you seen or heard more about the men or operation (not the GB but others) behind the curtain, if there is such a thing?
